Pumpkin Carving

What fun we all had - a really nice night (after huge afternoon temper tantrums from both mom, daughter and middle son)!!! Everyone did such beautiful jobs carving. WE LOVE HALLOWEEN!!! Especially Xander - he is really the driving force for getting everything done - with questions like this since September: "Come on mom please?!?!" "How many days til we get to put up decorations?" "How many days til we get to buy pumpkins?" "How many days til we get to carve pumpkins?" It's pretty hard not to agree to his sweet little face.....
Anyways here are our masterpieces

This is a tedious job - sorting all these seeds - but we love to eat them after they have been roasted - except guess what? Oh yeah - I forgot about them and they baked at 200 degrees for over 12 hours - yeah - all night long. UGHHHH..........amazingly enough they didn't burn they're just not as tasty as usual - just a TAD to dry.

Some Layouts...

While back in Miles City this summer my Dad tooks the kids and I fishing out at Fort Keough, at the 1902 bridge. It is BEAUTIFUL out there - so Miles City - proud to call it home. We all had a great time and I got a ton of photos - these are the first pages of that day:

Very Cool

So I read Stacy Julian's blog and she had these youTube videos. I just had to share because they are wonderful! Amazing what just one person can do - very inspiring. Make sure you watch both videos entirely. If you want to contribute to her "project" readup here:

Bead Trends Again....

Woohoo!!! The DHL truck just left my house with a fun little box of the November 2008 Bead Trends Magazines. My Eternity Set and Perdy Zipper Pull can be found in these pages. I tell you - yes once again - it is so cool - so exciting to see my own pieces in print. So COOL!!!
Go get an issue - lots of inspiration from a lot of great artisans!

A Little Girl...

Needs our prayers, positive energies, whatever it is that you do - she needs. An online scrap booking friend, Niki, is going through some awful times. On April 29th, 2008, her daughter Ellie was diagnosed with a diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG); an incredibly aggressive and inoperable tumor in her brain stem. There is no known cure for this rare tumor and only a 10% survival rate. Ellie is 5. Ellie had a brain scan done this past week and it wasn't great news. They need a miracle. We all know the power of prayer, positive energies - if we can just take a few minutes to send it little Ellie and her family's way.

Want to scrapbook?

Do you scrapbook and are you close to Omaha??? YOU NEED to sign up for the 3rd annual Crop for a Cause!!! Such an awesome crop. I attended last year and will be going again this year. It was so great. The profits go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation - that in itself is reason enough to go. If you need a little more convincing well just go read Becca's blog - the goodie bags that each crop attendee will be receiving are valued over $50.00.
Reasons to go:
Benefits the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
Becca is a super sweet person with a passion for this cause
Awesome goodie bags
Door prizes galore
Bake sale items that are super yummy
A wonderful silent auction - the list of donations Becca has received is awesome.
Great meals provided - lunch from Sam & Louie's and dinner from Chipotle or Newman's Noodles
A great garage sale - last year I got a ton of scrapbook supplies for SO CHEAP!!!
Vendors to shop at: Stampin Up, Creative Memories, It Kit Studio, Mothball Charlie
Hey and a great opportunity to meet some new friends. That was a big reason I signed up last year - I was new here and I wanted to meet some new scrapbooking buddies - I did enjoy the company.
So you still have time to sign up - let me know if you decide. My neighbor Kim and I are going to go over on Friday night (from 5-7 pm) to pay extra to pick our seats and do a little early bird rummage sale shoppin - we would love to meet you there!!!

Bohemian Alps 1/2 Marathon & Fun Run

Steve ran the Bohemian Alps Half Marathon yesterday in Brainard, Nebraska and the boys ran a 1 mile Fun Run. They all had lots of fun. What a beautiful little community! I could handle living there. Only an hour from Omaha - and a much slower pace - which I like. Anyways - Steve loved the route. And the boys enjoyed the walk/run!!! I was so proud of them!

I think I was tagged

I am so bad at these blog games....but maybe Jayne tagged me.

Here are the rules:
Link the person who tagged you.
List 6 quirks of yours.
Tag 6 fellow bloggers to do the same.

Six Quirks: (Man I don't know.....)
1) When I am too cranky or need to cool down I say speedy rosary
2) I often count my steps
3) It's almost impossible for me to sit at the computer desk without crossing my legs (until they fall asleep).
4) I (like Jayne) have a very specific way that the dishwasher needs to be loaded.
5) I wake up at least 3 times a night to go to the bathroom and then I drink a good 12 ounces of water (wonder why I get up at least three times a night? Maybe I should stop drinking somuch water at bed time)
6) I clench my jaws and grit my teeth really bad.

I tag:
1) Jodi
2) Joleyn
3) Becky
4) Tara - cause I know you have a blog - you just won't share it with anyone - now's your time!!!
5) Becca
6) Donna ( cause we are friends now - and she totally loves my blog! Ok I am just kidding - but seriously not many people read my blog - I am running out of people to tag)

$5.00

ON the way home from picking the boys up from school we drove past a rummage sale. This little chair called to me - "Stacey oh Stacey, you need me. Look at me!! I'm just so cute." So I flipped around and for $5.00 it came home with me. Looks nice with the pumpkins - I like it on our front porch. It's spindles are loose and it's in rough-ish shape - but I wanted it for our front porch - becuase of what she did with her fun chair. So it need not be perfect. Or should I say it is perfectly unperfect. Eventually I will paint it - maybe robins egg blue or red or olive green or who knows - but I'm so glad it called out my name!!!

Top 10

OK - Been way to long since I have done a top 10 - so here they are my top 10:

1) Vala's Pumpkin Patch

2) The absolutely gorgeous fall we have been having!!!

3) Jewelry sales

4) TWO NEW wholesale account

5) Getting our family cookbook really moving

6) Steve and the kids

7) Pumpkins

8) Halloween decorations

9) Rhubarb Pie

10) Evening sweater/sweatshirt weather
