Stampin Up

Anyone want to join a monthly Stampin Up group???? Pretty please?? They have such cool stuff and I want to order monthly to get the goods and to support my sisters business. Most of you already know what Stampin Up is but if you don't - they have have BEAUTIFUL scrapbooking and stampin supplies. So if you are new to scrapbooking or stampin this is a great way to build up your supplies - if you have been at it a while - they have such fun things!! I would love to have 5 people (6 with me) to commit to placing a $25.00 order each month for 6 months. Then each one of us would take turns getting the hostess rewards - which are GREAT!!! Who doesn't love free stuff. Check out the pdf file of their catalog page 16 to see what those hostess benefits are.

So are you interested yet??? Ok check out these fun things I have done using mostly Stampin Up goods:

(The above design is a scraplift from Rachel Ricks http://thescrappysideoflife.blogspot.com/)

So if you are interested let me know asap and we will get the monthly schedule figured out and catlaogs sent out to everyone - they are so fun to look at and there are a ton of ideas!!! And as a bonus there will be paper samples and an idea sheet with each order placed - enough to make at least 1 card!!! FUN!!

Oh if you are interested just comment here or if you have my email just email me!!! Thanks friends!!

Best of times

It's been beautifully sunny here this week - so lots of sidewalk chalking to be done! Xan-Man is quite the artist. Enjoy!

Class

So excited! I just started a 6 week beginners silversmith class at a local shop! I thought I could teach myself in the past - bought many of the tools to get me started then I would search for good lessons and eventually give up before I even started. So I finally signed up for a class. I am really enjoying it - started designing this pendant yesterday - my very own design - I got as far as cutting it out - I will share more photos as I go....hopefully this will mean good things for Star Hitched Wagon - we'll see! Hope you all have a great weekend!

Happy Easter

The boys and I made these super cool nests yesterday to give to the neighbors and to enjoy ourselves. I used my moms super yummy chinese noodle cookie recipe and shaped them into nests and filled with blue malted eggs. So cute and so yummy! Thanks Better Homes and Gardens for the idea!!!

Swoon

So I have a tree fetish - I like all trees but I really dig bare trees - they are just soooo cool!!
I took this picture out at Platte river and I LOVED it!!! Yes this is a Stacey Curry original! :)
So I did a super cool effect from picnik called cinemascope and had a 12 x 18 poster print done from Walgreens.com for under $12.00 - bought a cheaPy frame from Walmart with mat included for under $20.00 and it's love!!!

It will go perfect in my living room along with my Past Dreams Print by David Winston from Art.com - I think mine is just as good if not better! :) I'm just sayin....
Later this week I will show you the super cool poster print of the kids I had done also. Readers this is an AWESOME gift idea if you like to take pictures. I used a point and shoot digital camera (Canon Powershot SD1100 IS) and the quality of the poster prints = BEAUTIFUL!!!

Platte River

We love this place - even when it's cold.
it is our retreat from the big city life
it is beautiful

it is fanciful
it is WAY full of things to amaze
it is peaceful
it is playful

it is slower

it is just SO jam packed of So many
little things that make this life so GRAND

Treasures can be found everywhere
we just need to keep our hearts open

Trail Runner

Steve ran a 12K Trail Run at Platte River this past weekend. It's a beautiful place to be - a pretty difficult run - but he knew what to expect - he trains a bit out there. Good turn out - good runners. His time was 1:12:31 He amazes me!

The above photos were taken off ofthe team nebraska flickr page. below are mine.

For Mothers

The following was sent to me via email this morning from my mom and my auntie - so I thought I would share it with my "mom" friends here. Enjoy!

Real Mothers don't eat quiche:
They don't have time to make it.

Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils
Are probably in the sandbox.

Real Mothers often have sticky floors,
Filthy ovens and happy kids.

Real Mothers know that dried play dough
Doesn't come out of carpets.

Real Mothers don't want to know what
The vacuum just sucked up.

Real Mothers sometimes ask 'Why me?'
And get their answer when a little
Voice says, 'Because I love you best..'

Real Mothers know that a child's growth
is not measured by height or years or grade...
It is marked by the progression of Mommy to Mom to Mother...

The Images of Mother

4 YEARS OF AGE - My Mommy can do anything!
8 YEARS OF AGE - My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!
12 YEARS OF AGE - My Mother doesn't really know quite everything.
14 YEARS OF AGE - Naturally, Mother doesn't know that, either.
16 YEARS OF AGE - Mother? She's hopelessly old-fashioned.
18 YEARS OF AGE - That old woman? She's way out of date!
25 YEARS OF AGE - Well, she might know a little bit about it!
35 YEARS OF AGE - Before we decide, let's get Mom's opinion.
45 YEAR S OF AGE - Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?
65 YEARS OF AGE - Wish I could talk it over with Mom.

The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she
carries, or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
The place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole,
but true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.
It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she
shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows!

Easter's Coming

Just one week away. What do your plans include?

Any fun projects planned? I did this last year:

Jamie had a great idea with nests and paper mache eggs from Michaels - think I might copy. I just want some nests for year round scattered around my house - until I find real abandoned ones guess I could settle for some faux nests....

There are great ideas out there in the world wide web!!

Like make your own peeps. I don't even like peeps but I think this would be a fun project for the kids and I since they ARE on spring break this week.

Beautiful spring centerpieces. Eggs really are so pretty.

How cute are these little nests? These are must do - my kids LOVE haysacks - why not shape them like nests and all the little cadbury solid chocolate eggs. FUN!

What's on your menu?

For us:
Ham
Sweet potato casserole
Mashed potatoes (because they're Connor's favorite)
Rolls
A new brussels sprout recipe
And a dessert or two of some sort - haven't decided yet:
Tiramisu?
No bake cheesecake? (Joleyn's dads recipe of course)
Something lemony???
Cola Cake? (who knew Coca Cola had all those recipes - check them out) - Becca brought a piece to scrapbooking - so good - probably not good for you - but as she said everything in moderation, right?

It'll just be the 5 of us - and enough food to feed an army. If you are in the Omaha area and you want a good Easter meal and a fun Easter Egg hunt - just send me an email we'd love the company!! :)

I'd love to hear what your family traditions are, recipes, plans, project - please do share!
