Thank you dear Jodi. I love you!

My loverly sister Jamie made the red one - very cool!!!
I got the brown ones in the mail today from Donna Downey.....I feel special. (So funny as I re-read this it sounds like Donna and I are best buds - like maybe she just sent these as a gift - I actually ordered these off of her website - I don't really know her - just stalk her. Yes I am a dork) Really special - I kinda dig her...like a lot. Yes I stalk her blog which is how I found out she had extra ones of these - which are going to be fabulous for jewelry displays at shows. Right now they make a very fun art collection on a shelf in the studio!!! Love 'em!!!

Ok it's not a huge transformation - I love candlesticks like these but didn't like the colors. So for about $6.00 I have these beautiful black lovelies.
Now the vase needs either a glossy top coat or a stain wash to give it that shabby look. What do you think??? And of course it needs a wonderful flower arrangment or maybe sticks (because I love me some sticks).....
If you have thrifty re-do's or re-do's of something you had lying around in storage please post the link here - I would love to see what everyone is doing. Plus need new ideas!!!!
Ok silly enough look what I found out there in the wonderful world of internet- you too can have these lovely candlesticks and for about the same price I paid for my goodwill finds. Casey's Wood Products fun unfinished and in different sizes. How cool....

Some fun stuff I made using mostly Stampin Up! stuff:
ok so inspired by many of the home decorating blogs I have been reading lately:
For the Love of My Home
Nesting Place
Daisy Cottage
A Soft Place to Land
I decide to try again at the thrifting thing - before I would go to thrift stores or rummage sales and look at something that was ok - but if it was the wrong color or print I couldn't get passed it - but I am getting there.
I got all of this for $13.65 and then a couple of bottles of paint.....
I started painting last night - a couple of more coats of paint and they will be wonderful - stay tuned for the update!!!
So I finally did it - I decorated our lovely front porch. I had been eyeing this set at Hobby Lobby for awhile - it finally went to 50% off and I bought it - I love it. I sat out there for a long while last night - the boys even ate their dinner out there. It is so nice. Now I can watch the boys while they play out front and I don't have to sit on our front steps - don't get me wrong they are nice front steps but I like this little arrangement much better....
I married my best friend. The one I laugh with, live for, dream with, love.
I love you very much Steve!
We decided to celebrate Saturday with a nice date out - Pf Changs was calling our names. It was a nice date - no kids just us - super yummy food (Coronas, Pear Mojito's, Spring Rolls, Ahi Tuna, Singapore Street Noodles, Changs Spicy Chicken. Then Sunday the actual day - we weeded and pruned trees. Then to the library (got almost all of Alice Hoffman's books including Practical Magic, plus a couple of others). Then Steve had to go into the office for a wee bit and I went with him and read. It was a good day, a simple day spent together. I enjoyed it very much.
Now he is gone for the week for work - in Vancouver - I miss him already!
