I have been a scrapbooking fool these past few weeks! I am SOOO excited about all the pages I have completed!!! 25 pages completed!!! 25 layouts in 32 days ! Woohoo!! So I decided to share a few:

Totally Random Thursday

From 7:35 am to 9:27 am I put 12.5 miles on my vehicle and I didn't really go anywhere.

I also expect to add at least 20 more miles on that number today...WOW!!!

I know I know many of you are saying - ha that's nothing.

BUT I do not work at one of the mines and I do not live in a big city...

so it seems CRAZY how many miles I travel each week.

Moving on...I washed my car today for the first time in I don't even know how long...

and when I say I

well I really mean that big machine.

Yes it did and I sat and texted in my car - tough work I tell ya.

Anywho...by the time I got home you would NEVER know I made a visit to the car wash.

So tell me again why we wash vehicles? (Steve and Dad pretend you didn't read that last statement)

I am hopelessly and shamelessly ADDICTED to Pretty Little Liars.

Thanks a lot Macey. No but really I am.

I have watched 12 episodes in the past 2 days while scrapbooking.

Stacey + Ezra = TRUE LOVE 4EVER.

Ok I sometimes have the mind of a 14 year old.

And I might have replayed his make out session 427 times, but probably not.

HOT!!!

I have scrapbooked 18 pages in the past 24 days! And that's the real number!!

I am so super excited about this because I didn't even scrapbook that many pages

in the entire year of 2011. Yay ME!!!

I started marathon training on Monday. Crazy I know.

It will be my first and I am actually REALLY excited.

I will be running the Deadwood Mickelson Trail Marathon on June 3rd,

along with my really hot hubby. Well I won't really be running along side him or anything.

By the time I finish the marathon he will have finished his marathon, showered,

had a couple of meals, drank a few beers and lots of other stuff.

I have never been to interested in speed...finishing is my goal.

With this being my first marathon my goal is to finish before the 7 hour cut off time.

If it takes me 419 minutes and 60 seconds I will be so super thrilled that I accomplished that!!!

And another member of our family will enter the world of running.

Xander has taken an interest in running. He has been "training" for about three weeks now.

He is really excited about it. He will run at least 25 miles over the next few months

and then finish the final 2k of the marathon at the Mickelson Trail the day before Steve and I run. AWESOME!! So proud of him!

I LIVE in yoga and running clothes - 96.4% of the time and that number may be low.

The old gear wasn't looking too pretty so I may or may not have purchased $8641.23

worth of new gear from Sierra Trading Post. I didn't say I spent that much but it was worth

at least that much! Seriosuly do you all shop here??? If not your CRAZY - CRAZY I tell ya.

The bargains are unbelievable. (They are offering an addition 20% off orders over $100.00.

Coupon code: SITETHUR112) My new gear consists of Columbia, Mountain Hardware,

Royal Robbins, SmartWool, J-41. And not one thing was over $40.00!

In fact $40.00 was the most expensive item and I cringed a little...most things were 12 - $30.00!

Even then shoes! Score. Now I am comfortable but at least I look somewhat put together!

Hey I said somewhat. And now I am even a runner again so I have an excuse - right???

Now I just need to work on getting back into Yoga. Which reminds me....

Please offer mid-morning yoga classes for people like me. I do not like Zumba...well let me re-phrase...my body can't move like is required in Zumba. And I am not looking for spinning

or cardio fit right now. So please a 9:00 am yoga class would be awesome!!! And I'm not a senior or a kid - so those don't qualify. Thank you.

New Outlook...

I have been scrappin away these days! LOVE it!!

Decided to have a go at the My Mind's Eye Blog Challenge #31.

I LOVE how this one turned out!!! But boy did I have a hard time getting here. The sketch had three circles - and boy did they have me STUCK. So I decided to check out what the other participants were doing - sometimes you need just a little extra inspiration.

I came across a fantastic layout by Wendy Smith - just love her take on the sketch. It reminded me to think outside the box when it comes to sketches. So with that I decided to move away from the circles and used the rectangles...love it!!

Everything (except for the ink) on the layout is My Mind's Eye - from very old cardstock from a paper pad that I have had FOREVER to the more recent Lost & Found line. Oh I did use dies from Stampin Up to cut out the heart, brackets and rectangles - but using My Mind's Eye paper of course!!

I am pretty sure I have mentioned my friend Lee about a dozen or so times on my blog - her blog is such a bright spot!!! And she shares the most wonderful or projects, ideas, inspirations....LOVE it all!! I take many ideas from Lee and run with them. (I do give credit though - so that makes it OK right???) You really must add her to your blog roll! She won't disappoint! Not one little bit!

Anywho...todays post was awesome!!! Moved me to get busy right away I tell ya!!! She was inspired by Hope Wallace Karney's Pen and Paper: Living Between the Lines post on A Beautiful Ripple Effect's blog. WOW!!! Did ya get all that??? Hover over each and click on the links I provided! All wonderful!

So like I said I get busy RIGHT away! I was just so excited to do something a little pretty, a little creative and document where I am at right now! As a scrapbooker I take a lot of time documenting those big moments in our lives and the fun little moments in the kids lives but I forget to include me specific projects. This year that is changing - One Little Word and Project Life are both giving me the opportunity to document where I am at today - to share a little more of me with those who will want to know some day. And also for me to look back and see how I've changed/grown/blossomed?!?!?!

The petals of me...my petals are all things that I am!!! They really are - but some need more attention than others. They are things that I have really been working towards and want to continue working on - they are essential for me to be a whole me...which is what I really want most.

Hope posted a list of questions/prompts to get a little more out of this fun little exercise. This totally works for me - I need specific guidance...
I added each question to a 2.5" x 3.5" card and then wrote down my answers/thoughts. I really love how it turned out - very simple - not all crazy embellished up - but it is exactly what is on my mind lately. Good to document it.

It will be interesting to look back and maybe do this again in a month or two like she encourages. Or how about in a year. Here's to hoping that I make strides towards achieving/incorporating more of all of these!

New studio....

So I did it!!

I moved the studio up from the dungeon!!!

All by myself. OK not entirely true...

Connor helped me with the three big pieces of furniture.

Just couldn't drag them up those darn stairs without help.

If I could have I would have. I promise.

Now it sits prettily upstairs

(P.S. Want a pair of these wings? Contact Shelley and see if she's game!!)

SOOOO much better! I am so lucky I had two spaces to pick from.

The ONLY draw back is that there is no over head light so I need to

invest in some good task lighting so I can see what I'm working on

when it's gloomy out and at night! But that's easy!

Love it!

Oh and what's really cool is that since it is connected to the

dining room if I ever have friends/family over to craft or scrap

we can use the dining room table to spread out and won't have

to run up and down the stairs to get supplies!!! Nope!

This also means there will be plenty of room for X-Man

to work on homework, puzzles, drawing, or other projects he's working on.

All close by! Just in case he wants to visit or he needs my help.

My Girls Crafty...

She's crafty!

And she's good!! :)

The kids have always been interested in craft projects around

the holidays but I didn't think it went beyond that.

I did craft with them throughout the years - little projects here and there

but sometimes looking back I worry I might have been too stingy

about my craft time...not really wanting to share that time

as much as I should have. Maybe I would have been surprised sooner.

And maybe I started the fire just enough so it would come out at just the right time.

Anywho...

Miss has all these great craft projects she would love to do...

I'm impressed!

Now on to her wreath.

She made this for her "Big" (her words not mine).

The fun of sorority life.

She used her sorority colors - aqua and grey

(and we added the black since we couldn't find grey tulle)

She used almost 3 full rolls (at least 2 1/2) in the aqua and black color.

6" spools from Michael's Celebrate It brand.

1 spool of glittery silver/grey ribbon.

(we had glitter coming out our ears - just ask the boys of the house - they were not amused)

I am not sure of the exact size of the wreath because I have already boxed it up,

but I think it was a 12" foam wreath form - also from Michael's.

We followed these basic directions.

It's huge!!! From end of tulle to end of tulle it is about 27".

I Love It.

Now I want to find an online supplier of fun colors of tulle

so she can make me one for:

Valentine's Day

and one for Easter

and one for Birthday months

and one for Halloween

and I think you get the picture!! :)

Oh and for gifts! What an awesome gift this would/will make!

My One Little Word...

When I started seeing people talking about picking their words for 2012

I felt a bug PULL towards really commiting this year.

I have picked words before but really had to think hard about the word.

It was more or less just a word.

They didn't have as much meaning to me.

And I didn't do too much to make it a part of my life.

This time around two words came to mind immediately - without much thought.

Those words were:

TRUTH and REAL

Both completely related.

As I have mentioned in many a blog posts

us moving has brought a lot of changes

it has sent me reeling a bit.

My ego is getting the best of me…

I tend to make assumptions about situations, people, etc…

and what I am realizing is that they are not factual,

not necessarily real or the truth.

And sometimes I am not realistic about

what I need to do to achieve desired outcomes.

I make excuses about why things might not be happening.

It's time to get real.

I really want to focus on what is true.

So my word will be...

re·al, real/ˈrē(ə)l/, /rāˈäl/

1. true; not merely ostensible, nominal, or apparent.

2. existing or occurring as fact; actual rather than imaginary, ideal, or fictitious.

3. being an actual thing; having objective existence; not imaginary.

4.being actually such; not merely so-called.

5. genuine; not counterfeit, artificial, or imitation; authentic.

How perfect is that?

That is exactly what I'm talkin bout!!!

To see what is REAL about all situations.

To be REAL about what is needed for a desired outcome.

To be REAL with where I'm at.

To be REAL with my intentions.

To be REAL towards others.

To show the REAL me.

To be the REAL me.

Be REAL. See what's REAL. Feel what's REAL.

...for goals!!!

I really need to get me straightened out. Too much to be happy about!!

I think I might be a little cranky these days. Oh how silly silly silly that is!!

Time for change - time to kick that ego to the curb.

Here are a few things I am thinking about:

Working towards living a life I love.

As I think I have mentioned before this move has left me rather topsy turvy and stuck.

Not doing nearly as much as I can to feel good about me and life.

And that's just plum silly - too much too feel good about!!

Create more often!

I want to paint and get messy!!

I want to sew!

I want to play with clay!

Get my business up and running full steam ahead.

Will my labels ever be finished? Oh yes and they will be gorgeous.

The bath and body product will be perfected and I promise you will love it.

Because I love it!

And of course lots more jewelry - really want to work more with silver.

Judge less - love more.

Kick my ego to the curb.

It really get's in the way and trys to hold one down.

No thanks!! I've had enough.

Christmas was a good one....

...a very good one!!

And now I feel like I can say goodbye to it.

The decorations have been taken down.

My girl is safely back in Omaha! :(
(happy she's safe...just would have loved more time with her here in Wyoming)
Now I'm ready for the fresh start that 2012 will bring.

But before I say goodbye completely, how about a few (or a TON) pictures of

my favorite moments and my favorite people.

Macey was home for three whole weeks.
How fun it was to have her here for three whole weeks.
It was nice just bumming around with her.
And I found out she's very crafty - like me.
love love love this little tidbit.

Love that we only have to travel 3 hours to get back to my home town.
It soooo beats the 12 hour drive we used to have to make from Omaha.

We celebrated my sister's 40th birthday.
A surprise "Look Who's Turning Awesome" party.
Lots of fun! And boy was she surprised! Love it!

Christmas Eve mass with the family.
Love the comfort that the (mostly) familiar brings.
Love that Joy to the World!

All I Want for Christmas is....

...for my hubs to help me relocate my studio from the basement to our main floor!
And I told him so this morning!!

A bribe of no shopping for Christmas is HUGE! Right?

Asking for help has not brought my studio up those stairs yet.

I'd TOTALLY do it myself if I could drag those tables and bookshelves up the stairs all alone.

That might not be advisable?!?!

So here's the story...I have a WONDERFUL studio in our basement.

A great space...but I HATE HATE HATE working down in the basement all by myself.

LAME I know. But I just do...so guess what??? I don't go down there unless I have a deadline.

Which could be why I am not paper crafting or playing with clay or scrapbooking!?!?!

I miss my old studio and all the creativity that happened in there!!!

Now if I had no other option I wouldn't even think about complaining.

I would just be over the moon that I had such a wonderful space all to my own!!!!

BUT....we have a formal living room that NOBODY ever goes in.

A TOTAL wasted space...on the main floor...right off my kitchen!!!
It's pretty and warm and sunny.
A perfect place to create....

SO there ya have it...

Think I'll get my gift early? Like maybe this weekend??

Or maybe when Macey gets here she can help me....

Changing...

I need direction. Here on the blog, creatively, emotionally....all of it....needs direction. Which is OK - that's not a bad thing - moving makes things topsy turvy and I just need to find my new way.

I haven't created anything other than jewelry and a mug(which was awesome) since we moved.....and that my friends is insanity. Not a single scrapbook page, not a card, no painting!! It's no wonder I feel off. I need creativity to feel normal...many types of creativity...having creative time keeps me centered....makes me not so crabby crazy!!! Of course jewelry design is creative but it is also my job...I want to create a canvas, or a scrapbook page, of play with clay and write fantastic blog posts.

So wanting the easiest way back in I did a little searching for creativity and blog/writing prompts...
Just what I needed!!! Over at the Creativity Portal -I found the Imagination Prompt Generator.
And the prompt that pops up could not be more perfect:

What is changing in your life right now?

ALOT!!! We wanted so badly to move back closer to family and the mountains where we could once again live that outdoorsy lifestyle that we love but that doesn't mean that everything about this move is or has been easy. Change can be difficult - even when it's good! Right??? We are just rolling with it...finding our way.

Changes:

1) I get to see wide open spaces daily - from my deck! How awesome is that?

2) Steve works long long hours and if often preoccupied with work. He's finding his way...hopefully this evens out soon.

3) Hockey keeps the boys busier than they have ever been with anything!! They are learning hard work and dedication and what it's like to really be part of a team.

4) Not much interaction with friends or even much adult conversation day to day. I really need to get out more - more time at the AVA, I would really love to join a yoga class and a running group!! And I would love love love to find a scrapbooking group please?!?! And while we are at it how about a bunco's group??? :)

5) More time to create - now I just need to get busy.

6) I'm the only girl in the house. Sadie does not count. Thank goodness for facebook, texting and cell phones for staying close and connected to my girl.

7) My boys get to hunt again. Did you see those bucks??? Awesome!

8) Xander's having a hard time making good friends. Poor little guy - it really does break my heart. Kids are a lot different here than what he is used to in Omaha but I have no doubt good friends are here it will just take a little more time.

9) We get to see family often. We have traveled more in the 6 months we have been here than in a whole year living in Omaha. Love being able to get away!

10) I don't get to see Macey on a daily basis. Refer back to number 6!!! :)

11) I am only about 90 minutes away from terrific friends (old and new). This makes me happy!

12) No driveway get-togethers with the neighbors - boy I miss that!!! We had awesome neighbors in Omaha and we really miss them - it's was so nice for to be able to get together impromptu and all the kids had just as much fun playing outside right along side us!!

13) Star Hitched Wagon™ is growing!! No shows for over fours years and I have done three since August! Fun fun fun!! Not to mention a new wholesale account! Which I love!

The good and the bad....some of these will go away...some will not...this list will "change" because we are always changing. I am thankful for being here I just need to find my groove - my creative groove and a good group of friends!! :) I look forward to just how great it will be. And it will be because:

Successful Hunting Season

So proud of my boys!! Check out these bucks!

This was Triple C's first year hunting and he was one LUCKY kiddo!!!!

Next day Steve had awesome luck too!!!

Steve hasn't been hunting for the past four years - since we moved to Nebraska. Every fall he missed it terribly - now that we are back in Wyoming things will be different - something that these boys are excited about - lots of public land out here in Wyoming.
This year though - Steve lucked out by FINALLY drawing that Montana tag - so needless to say he was thrilled for the weekends that he could make it work - which with Connor's hockey schedule wasn't looking easy - but they got a couple weekends squeezed in and this one brought success!!

Now our freezer will be FULL!!! If you are in the family expect some gifts of summer sausage cause it might be coming out our ears!!!

Stay tuned for pics of their European mounts that will be adorning out walls very soon!!

Chronicles of a new hockey mom.....

...so let me start out by stating the obvious....I know very little about hockey...the rules, the proper etiquette....for the players, for the mom, the dads, the fans....etc.
I am a hockey mom for one....let's make that two....very simple reasons....because my boys want to be hockey players!!! That's it...for them not me! Not me at all!!! Not ever!
I will learn the ropes as they do...but there are certain things I will NEVER become...I will never become that crazy mother who yells at other players because I feel my son has been roughed up unnecessarily! NOT EVER!!! Sure I may get mad - in fact I am very certain of it...I will cringe and have second thoughts about letting the boys play hockey....probably over and over again...but they love it and I love that about them!!! And I will learn to love hockey for them. HOWEVER, I will not become a crazy abusive mother who yells at another woman's child! Especially not at practice. NOT EVER!!! It's just scary! Bullying is a bad thing....for children and especially for parents.

...think I might be able to blog on a regular basis??? I so would like to...seriously as absurd as it may sound I blog in my head ALL.THE.TIME!!!! I am not even kidding...I have great topics, great thoughts, pearls of wisdom ;)....but then I never sit down to really blog it out. But I will someday...maybe today, maybe tomorrow....maybe next week. Because I am so not ready to give up blogging. I love the process, and who knows maybe one of my posts will inspire someone, make someone laugh, or give them a thought to ponder....just maybe.
Today I am sitting here enjoying being lazy...thinking about hopping on the elliptical...but really thinking about all the things I have to be thankful for. Of course it's the trend right now because it's that time of year - but can you thinking of a better trend??? A better thing to be a bandwagon-er for??? It's a good thing - whether your the first person aboard or the last...remembering how blessed we truly are is a good thing.

So for today's blog post I will post 6 things I am truly thankful for.

1) Thankful for a beautiful family!

2) Thankful for hubby making all his connecting flights and for his safe trip home.

3) Thankful for my hubby spending a day working at home.

4) Thankful for a reality check - maybe I'm too addicted to my cell phone - it's time to update the address/phone book.

5) Thankful for good coaches which in turn make Xander LOVE hockey while he is learning his way!

6) Thankful for heat and a nice home to stay cozy in on this cold day.

More to come of course....but what are you thankful for today???

Can a parent every really prepare for the day their child spreads their wings and fly?

I thought I would be ok...I mean let's face it...

...sometimes a parent/teenager relationship can be a challenge...

...and Macey and I fought plenty...just like I fought with my parents at that age.

A challenge.

I used to tell Macey that she needed to be on her own...

...just so she knew what it was like to really be on her own and just how much we did do for her.

I also used to think...I can't wait til she is on her own...

...but only so we could actually be friends...to like each other...

....a relationship without so much tension.

Macey used to tell us...rather often...that she couldn't wait til she was out of our house...

...and then as the months got closer to graduation...this girl of mine...

...well she softened...the thought of rushing out of our home...

...those thoughts of getting as far away from us didn't seem so good...

...no she didn't want to go school in Montana...which for months she had planned on...

...no she wanted to stay closer to us...guess she didn't think we were so bad after all...

...however by this time Steve had already applied for the job in Wyoming...

...eventually getting the job.

Bittersweet.

As weeks got closer the thought of leaving her really hit me...

...my baby girl would soon be an adult...no longer living with us...

...making her way in this world on her own.

Nothing can prepare you for the mix of emotions...

...excited for what the future will hold for her...

...heartbroken at the thought of days...weeks...and even months without her.

I cried...often.

Still do a bit.

I cannot tell you how differently our home feels without her...of course it's a new home yes...

...so of course it's all different...

...but not having her here is not something I could prepare for...

...it seems quieter...a little lonely...

I don't love being the only girl in the house.

The positive?

She is doing great...adjusting to this not being close like she hoped for.

She's enjoying the sun...

...and all that this last summer as a child will bring...

...this makes it easier...

So happy she is happy!

And now...

when she is here in our home...

...we like each other...we enjoy each other's company...

...less of a challenge.

It's those visits that I will look forward too...

...will cherish...

...will be grateful for...

....looking for spring...we enjoyed a beautiful Easter with our little Curry 5 and good friends....the weather yesterday was wonderful...even went to the school to shoot some hoops....you know you are our of shape when your arms ache from shooting hoops for less than an hour...:)...now it's raining....so glad we got some time in the sun...

let's see what's new.....our house is under contract...only on the market for 3 days...(insert happy dance) such a huge blessing...a weight lifted...thought we found a house in Gillette and the inspection didn't go so well. :( So now we are looking again...I have faith that the RIGHT house is coming...

Kids are good...
Connor is still enjoying hockey...also riding his bike around the lake a bunch...

Xander had a few weeks of Tech club - learned to make power point...so cool....also still enjoy hockey.

Macey is down to the last of it...she enjoyed her last prom...she looked just gorgeous...1 month left of this stage in her life....oh where did these 18 years go...

All doing very well in school..proud of them

Steve is enjoying his new job...really likes being back out in it all...training for the Big Horn Mountain 50 miler again...coming up in June...also for a fun 12 person relay with some family members in July...the Epic Rocky Mountain Relay...I think he's kind of a stud...yes I do...

I am finding little bits of time to create.....jewelry....

no other art....but I am collecting supplies like a crazy woman...I am NOT running...but I just bought an elliptical...enjoying the time on it hoping to get back into shape...I'd love to start trail running, like my main man, but I am afraid I will get lost out there on those trails...maybe I should leave a trail of bread crumbs to find my way back???

I am most excited about this! Christy Tomlinson - is just about the sweetest thing ever (no I haven't ever met her). So our Triple C turned 13 about 2 weeks ago!!! 13 - another teenager in the house. Heaven help me....:) Nah...he's a good kid!! We love you much Triple C!!! Hope your 13th year is your best yet!

(And he is most excited about his new mountain bike - which is going to get LOTS of use once we are back in Wyoming! WOOHOO!!!)

Now the rest of us just need mountain bikes so we can ride along with him!!! Fun!

Overwhelmed....

So we went to Wyoming for a little house hunting - no luck. Expensive....a lot more so than Nebraska. Even then - still no house. 4 out of 5 of our favorite houses had synthetic stucco - no thank you!!! Beautiful houses - but at that price there are some sacrifices I won't make - like the entry from the garage MUST come into a mud room - one that is big enough to catch shoes, hockey gear, backpacks and coats - as well as the laundry. One house had a laundry closet in the living room - and right next to said closet was the door in from the garage - right onto the carpet - no tile, no closet, just door onto carpet - what a wreck that would be!!!!!!!!!! And the kitchen in that house was so bright and beautiful! I also have to have a bright studio space - sound frivolous - well I plan on putting a lot more time and energy into Star Hitched Wagon and if I am going to be spending many hours a day in my studio - it needs to be a good one - not a back corner no window in the dungeon tiny office space! (yes this describes the office space in Steve's favorite choice) Wahhhh.........

Then I come back to a house that we have let get to cluttered.....and now I have to get this house ready for showings...to put it on the market...and it makes me want to cry a little - yes I am having a pity party - I promise it will be quick. Just so much to do by.my.self.......

scrubbing
scouring
painting

Yes I know people do it all the time. I'll be fine - I'll get it all done and then I can breathe....I just don't remember being so overwhelmed last time - but that was a fast move - maybe I didn't have enough time to be overwhelmed. And it wasn't just me.....and that house wasn't as big and we weren't in it as long...makes a difference.

OK - I'm done - but if I am not around a lot - this is why....(cause I will be crying while painting and scrubbing and organizing by.my.self!!!)

Oh but it will all be so worth it once we are closer to the Big Horns and family and friends!!!

By the way - it is a beautiful day here - so that does make me smile!!! :) How about in your neck of the woods???

February Load

February LOAD started on the first! Woohoo...now if I could just get 28 laouts done this month I will be golden!!!
Well I was off to a good start and then I forgot to do my page yesterday.....but here are days 1 - 3

(the first two layouts followed two different pagemaps sketches - because I love pagemaps!!!)

Still sick - but here's the big news....

So I went to the doctors this morning because I am actually feeling the same if not worse today....so I am now on antibiotics for a sinus infection and bronchitis!!! Have I mentioned I hate being sick....thank goodness school was canceled today - I would have felt horrible calling in sick to work again. By tomorrow I will have been on antibiotics for 24 hours - so I should be good to go - crossing my fingers. Anywho...enough about sickness!!!
Let's move onto the exciting Curry news......

(I thought the photo was fitting since he is celebrating and this is in Wyoming - Dayton not Gillette - but still close)

We are moving back to Wyoming!!! Not back to Sheridan - but to Gillette this time around! We will move after Macey graduates and the boys finish the school year up. Most of us are thrilled at the idea - Macey is a little sad because she has now decided to stay in Nebraska for college and we will be 10 hours away.

When Steve put in for this job her plans at that time were to attend school in Montana - but she has since changed her mind. Funny - this girl of ours - she is always telling us how she can't wait to get out and away from us - I would never figured her to be weepy at the idea of living without us.....it in turn makes me very weepy. I have assured her that we will skype and call and email and text multiple times a day - and we will visit and she will visit - and it will all be good!!! She is only a flight away!! This spreading your wings and flying thing sometime hurts a bit - I remember it all to well....
But this really is good news....we have wanted to be back closer to the mountains - back to a slower pace - to the lifestyle we were used to - camping, fishing, hiking, hunting, and closer to family....and this was our chance - the quality of life will be so much better. Pray for Steve that the transition will be smooth...this will be a big change for him - but a good one. And really we could all use some prayers because it will be a big change for all of us....
So there you have it big news....

Sick and big news.....

The Curry's are sick - one or another of us has been sick all week - and it's not fun!! Whatever I had - which I thought was going away - is now settling with a vengeance into my chest - painful!!!! I hate going to the doctors but if I am still feeling like this tomorrow I am going in. So Xander (sore throat - cough - fever) and I will be playing hooky tomorrow- and not happily!!

And I know I haven't been around much - I have been preoccupied!
With Soul Restoration

With Learn to Hockey - which the boys are loving it - like really really loving it - no matter how many times they fell while learning to skate or how hard they are working to get the skills figured out - they still love it and have a blast. And I can tell ya - they will not be happy about missing tomorrow night!!!! It really has gone beyond any expectation I had for them!!

And with something really big!! Something big is on the horizon for us.....I can't tell yet but soon - stay tuned!!!! :)

This was fun - think she turned out rather sweet....came up with a basic bird shape and cut it out of canvas. Next I used a brayer with white and aqua paints. Then cut paper wings, beak and tail (used a scallop border punch), brad eye, and a sweet little resin dahlia that I purchased off of etsy from The Gilded Bee (who by the way has the absolute coolest little trim shop ever!!). Oh yeah and a hand written quote - my motto for life - ...and so she lived a life she loved.

It's so fun to get dressed up for Halloween!! This year friends of our had a party for kids and adults. Steve and I went as Frankenstein and the Bride of Frankenstein and Xander a vampire. Such fun!! The other costumes were wonderful - I wish I would have taken more photos. I probably would have but we had to leave pretty early because I started to feel ill - and sure enough I ended up with a nasty case of the stomach flu. At least we were able to dress up for a little while! Fun Fun!!

How amazing is this photo? She is a gorgeous girl - this Macey of mine!!! :)

The photographer? Amazing! Macey had such a great time - she was totally relaxed and it shows - the results are truly fabulous!! Mona Kay is awesome - you must give her a call if you need an awesome photographer! She wrote the sweetest of blog posts about Macey - I think Macey was verklempt!!! :)

Mona picked a wonderful location - Elmwood Park - which I am sad to say we had never been! It's crazy beautiful - right behind UNO. A perfect place to take beautiful photos! (I am excited to take some fun snapshots of the fam down there.) It was a beautiful September day! Macey's love of music and books was something she wanted Mona to capture - makes for some really cool shots!
