New bio...

OK so I needed a new bio to included in applications for my artsy endeavors - and I can't write very well - (to be honest I suck) So I begged my loverly sister Jodi to write one for me - cause she is kinda good doin that sorta thing.....Wow - she makes me sound so special. Thank you dear Jodi. I love you!

Stacey Curry was born and raised in rural Montana, where the beauty of the plains and mountains fueled her creativity. She began designing and selling jewelry to family and friends at the tender age of sixteen. She continued to cultivate her creativity and developed her own line of bath and body products and one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces. In 2003 she introduced her products on the world wide web and a star was born, Star Hitched Wagon™ that is.

Her jewelry was recently featured in the March/April 2008 issue of Bead Trends Magazine. She will again be featured in two upcoming issue of Bead Trends Magazine. Stacey's designs are perfect for everyone! Whether you are the country girl (roots) or the city girl (wings) or a little bit of both, you will fall in love with her unique designs.

Stacey currently resides in Omaha, Nebraska with her husband, Steve, their three beautiful children and a fine looking chocolate lab. Stacey also enjoys photography, scrapbooking and crafting of any sort.

SO tell me what do you think???? Really I need input - should I include more or less - and what else should I include or leave out.......Thank you blogging friends...

The ladies....

Aren't they cool?
My loverly sister Jamie made the red one - very cool!!!
I got the brown ones in the mail today from Donna Downey.....I feel special. (So funny as I re-read this it sounds like Donna and I are best buds - like maybe she just sent these as a gift - I actually ordered these off of her website - I don't really know her - just stalk her. Yes I am a dork) Really special - I kinda dig a lot. Yes I stalk her blog which is how I found out she had extra ones of these - which are going to be fabulous for jewelry displays at shows. Right now they make a very fun art collection on a shelf in the studio!!! Love 'em!!!

Thrifting Re-do's

From this:

to this:

Ok it's not a huge transformation - I love candlesticks like these but didn't like the colors. So for about $6.00 I have these beautiful black lovelies.
Now the vase needs either a glossy top coat or a stain wash to give it that shabby look. What do you think??? And of course it needs a wonderful flower arrangment or maybe sticks (because I love me some sticks).....
If you have thrifty re-do's or re-do's of something you had lying around in storage please post the link here - I would love to see what everyone is doing. Plus need new ideas!!!!

Ok silly enough look what I found out there in the wonderful world of internet- you too can have these lovely candlesticks and for about the same price I paid for my goodwill finds. Casey's Wood Products fun unfinished and in different sizes. How cool....

ok so inspired by many of the home decorating blogs I have been reading lately:
For the Love of My Home
Nesting Place
Daisy Cottage
A Soft Place to Land
I decide to try again at the thrifting thing - before I would go to thrift stores or rummage sales and look at something that was ok - but if it was the wrong color or print I couldn't get passed it - but I am getting there.
I got all of this for $13.65 and then a couple of bottles of paint.....

I started painting last night - a couple of more coats of paint and they will be wonderful - stay tuned for the update!!!

Meet my new front porch

So I finally did it - I decorated our lovely front porch. I had been eyeing this set at Hobby Lobby for awhile - it finally went to 50% off and I bought it - I love it. I sat out there for a long while last night - the boys even ate their dinner out there. It is so nice. Now I can watch the boys while they play out front and I don't have to sit on our front steps - don't get me wrong they are nice front steps but I like this little arrangement much better....

12 years ago (yesterday)....

I married my best friend. The one I laugh with, live for, dream with, love.
I love you very much Steve!

We decided to celebrate Saturday with a nice date out - Pf Changs was calling our names. It was a nice date - no kids just us - super yummy food (Coronas, Pear Mojito's, Spring Rolls, Ahi Tuna, Singapore Street Noodles, Changs Spicy Chicken. Then Sunday the actual day - we weeded and pruned trees. Then to the library (got almost all of Alice Hoffman's books including Practical Magic, plus a couple of others). Then Steve had to go into the office for a wee bit and I went with him and read. It was a good day, a simple day spent together. I enjoyed it very much.
Now he is gone for the week for work - in Vancouver - I miss him already!
